BOOK DESCRIPTION
In order to be successful in a profession, it is necessary to have a passion for creating and the constant inventiveness of the entrepreneur-camping is in itself a style of living and a need to live and enjoy oneself under sunny skies.
THE HISTORY OF A PROFESSION speaks about the development of CROATIAN CAMPING TOURISM, Relying primarily on the chronological development of camps and and on the people who created the camping product in Croatia over the last 100 years, but also on people from abroad, we have tried to give a historical overview of the camps and the profession itself. The product as such, tries to give the factual situation and the chronological development from the last century until today. The book also shows the history of the camping product through the hundreds of people who created it and we honour them.
In the 1950’s and 1960’s one generation began the construction of camps. There were many obstacles on their road to success. It is now time to take a look at the road that they travelled and to show our respect to that generation for the vision and product that today’s second generation has inherited. Not to let the efforts and struggles of the founders of Croatian camping fall into oblivion means to record them ina truly professional book about this field of work, which those generations certainly deserve. It is also an opportunity to use te magical word CAMPING as a synonym for the pleasant vacation moments of millions of Europeans.
At the same time a book in Croatian and English might be good reading for journalists and guests as a gift and as remembrance of the development of that part of our tourist offer.
In this richly illustrated book you will discover all of the important stages in that development that hundreds of people conceived and created, devoting their entire lives and a century to a single profession. The book also describes the rocky road travelled by professional associations in their fight for a better camping future and its quality.
